Memories from Aunt Judi Text

Song Playing is
"I'll Be Missing You"

Memories Of Zak
From Aunt Judi

My Memories:

First I want to stress ... cherish the moments because they become your memories.

I have so many, but thought I would write down the ones that really stand out in my mind.

The Christmas that you were a ghost buster still makes me laugh. Envisioning you running around with the backpack on and throwing the trap to catch ghosts. Uncle John used to get so excited as Christmas to see what you boys got so he could play with the toys tooo. You and Troy vying for a leg so that grandma could scratch your back.

Sitting in the middle of the baseball fields in our lawn chairs and keep turning back and forth to watch you and Derek play games at the same time.

Going camping at 1980 and you trying to catch the 19 inch bass that Derek caught and getting frustrated because he would not bite your hot dog. Harley was a puppy and we set up our tent, only for a major storm to blow through. All of us, grandma, grandpa, troy, Derek, you, uncle john, me and Harley all crammed into the old pop up camper until the storm was over. All of you boys having flash lights and getting the giggles because of how afraid you were.

Grandma sleeping in the driveway with you and the other boys because you thought sleeping in the pop up was so much fun, only to come in, the middle of the night because you guys were afraid.

Dropping you off at a semi-formal, it was either in 6th or 7th grade. I dropped you off and instead of leaving circled the parking lot and parked because I wanted to see the girl you were giving a corsage too. Never did see her, but you walked into the school with a big group of kids who were all decked out.

Always finding the time for mikey. The one year when you taught him how to say a swear word and making him say it over and over again, laughing so hard it made you cry.

Always pressing the gas peddle in the golf cart when it was parked at camp, until grandpap would yell at you to stop doing that.

Waiting to watch the fireworks until mikey got freaked out and me, you, troy and mikey started to run because it was poring. Running first to Art's only to find the door was locked and us trying to huddle under a pine tree, only to realize it was not going to stop so we all ran through the rain up to camp. Later that night you were standing outside flipping the glow rings up in the air and seeing how high they would go and catching them before they would fall to the ground.

Putting your arm around me when I was crying and telling me, "don't worry aunt judi everything is going to be ok"!! There are many that flash into my mind at different times and these are just a few.

I am truly proud that you were apart of my life and you always will be. You were a light that drew a lot of people to you and I was privileged to say that you were apart of my family.

Until I hear from you again.
Love ya,

Aunt Judi
